COLUMBUS, Ohio – State Rep. Michael Stinziano has been selected to sit on the Governing Board of the Council of State Governments.
“I’m honored to be chosen to sit on this select body,” Stinziano, a Columbus Democrat, said. “This organization represents the best thinking in state governance issues.”
“I believe my service in this organization will help me bring back to the Buckeye State excellent ideas to continue to make Ohio the best place to live, work, raise a family and start a business in the country,” Stinziano said.
Founded in 1933, the Council of State Goverments says it’s the only organization serving all three branches of state governments.
According to the organization, CSG is a region-based forum, headquartered in Lexington, Ky., that fosters insights and ideas to help state officials shape public policy.
The governing board is made up of the governor from each state and U.S. territory; two lawmakers from each state and CSG executive committee members not otherwise on the governing board. The group meets annually in conjunction with the CSG annual meeting and considers the organization’s budget and other matters.
