COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge #9, representing more than 4,000 law enforcement officers across Franklin County, has endorsed the election of state Rep. Michael Stinziano for Columbus City Council.
The FOP represents police officers and sheriff’s deputies from 29 jurisdictions across Franklin County.
“I am honored to have the support of our law enforcement officers, men and women whose courageous work protects our community every day. On Council, I will fight to increase funding for our police, fire and EMS services to ensure our officers and deputies have the resources they need to protect us.”
Stinziano’s election to City Council has also been endorsed by a diverse group of community organizations, elected officials, business and labor leaders including the Central Ohio Labor Council AFL-CIO; the Franklin County Democratic Party; Teamsters Local 284; The Franklin County Young Democrats; Stonewall Democrats of Central Ohio; the Columbus Education Association; the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 6; Sprinkler Fitters Local 669; and Sheet Metal Workers Local 24.
The FOP also endorsed the election of City Council Members Zach Klein and Jaiza Page in the November election.
