COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, representing hundreds of building and construction workers, has endorsed Rep. Michael Stinziano for election to Columbus City Council in the November election.
“I thank the hardworking men and women of the Building Trades Council for their support,” said Stinziano. “Creating more and better jobs to grow our economy and restore economic prosperity will be my top priority at City Hall. Together, we will work to build a better and brighter future for our families and our community.”
“On Council, in addition to creating jobs, I will be dedicated to funding essential services to promote neighborhood safety, supporting our schools, and providing our citizens with effective and responsive constituent service.”
The endorsement of the Columbus/ Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council is the 18th endorsement that Rep. Stinziano has received this year from a growing group of community organizations, elected officials, and business and labor leaders that support his candidacy for Council, including The Columbus Dispatch; The African American News Journal; Central Ohio Sierra Club; Franklin County Adelante Democrats; OCSEA AFSCME Local 11; the Fraternal Order of Police; Columbus Professional Firefighters Local 67; Teachers For Better Schools; the Central Ohio Labor Council AFL-CIO; Stonewall Democrats of Central Ohio; Young Elected Progressives; the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 6; Sheet Metal Workers Local 24; Sprinkler Fitters Local 669; Teamsters Local 284; Franklin County Young Democrats; and the Franklin County Democratic Party.
In addition to Rep. Stinziano, the Building Trades Council also endorsed the candidacies of Council Members Jaiza Page, Zach Klein, Shannon Hardin, and Council candidate Elizabeth Brown for City Council.
