The Franklin County Adelante Democrats is the latest organization to endorse Rep. Michael Stinziano for Columbus City Council.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement and support of the Adelante Democrats who, since 2005, have been dedicated to build and support Latino Democratic leadership based on the values important to the Latino community,” Rep. Stinziano said.
“On Council, I will work hard to bring people from different backgrounds together for the common good and focus on Council’s core mission: building great neighborhoods that nurture and support families and enhance public safety,” Stinziano said. “Strong, safe neighborhoods are the backbone of our community. I support increasing funding for police, fire, EMS, and neighborhood safety programs like block watches and community crime patrols that empower us to take control of our neighborhoods and keep us safe.”
The Adelante Democrat’s endorsement is the 17th endorsement that Rep. Stinziano has received this year from a growing group of community organizations, elected officials, and business and labor leaders that support his candidacy for Council, including The Columbus Dispatch; The African American News Journal; the Central Ohio Sierra Club; OCSEA AFSCME Local 11; the Fraternal Order of Police; Columbus Professional Firefighters Local 67; Teachers For Better Schools; the Central Ohio Labor Council AFL-CIO; Stonewall Democrats of Central Ohio; Young Elected Progressives; the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 6; Sheet Metal Workers Local 24; Sprinkler Fitters Local 669; Teamsters Local 284; Franklin County Young Democrats; and the Franklin County Democratic Party.
Rep. Stinziano is running with Council Members Jaiza Page, Zach Klein, Shannon Hardin, and Council candidate Elizabeth Brown in the November election.
