COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Central Ohio Association for Justice, which represents more than 200 trial lawyers from throughout Central Ohio, announced today that they have named state Rep. Michael Stinziano as their legislator of the year.
The honor was announced by the association at their annual membership luncheon held today in Columbus. The group’s mission is to promote justice for all citizens and help improve the judiciary through open access to courthouses.
“It’s a singular honor to receive this important award,” said Stinziano, a Columbus Democrat and Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, who is finishing his second, two-year term in the Ohio House of Representatives. “I appreciate the association for justice’s recognition, and I’ll continue to work hard to promote their goals and values of justice and integrity, which I share.”
According to the association, Stinziano won the accolade for his hard work towards common-sense solutions, such as House Bill 261, legislation that he co-sponsored which streamlined the Ohio Court of Claims to ensure it operates efficiently. The association also lauded his thorough approach to public policy, including a willingness to address a variety of issues and consider competing interests.
“I look forward to continue working with COAJ as we promote an honest and open judiciary that serves all our citizens,” Stinziano said.
