COLUMBUS, Ohio – State Rep. Michael Stinziano has filed nominating petitions  at the Franklin County Board of Elections to seek re-election in Ohio’s 18th House District.

Stinziano, a lawyer and a Columbus Democrat, is seeking a third two-year term in the Ohio House of Representatives.

“I’m proud of all that we have accomplished but more work remains to make our great neighborhoods the best places to live, work, raise a family and start a business in Ohio,” said Stinziano.

A former director of the Franklin County Board of Elections, the second-largest voting jurisdiction in the state, Stinziano has worked in a bi-partisan manner for common-sense reforms that make voting easier for citizens while preserving the security of the state’s voting systems.

Stinziano has also worked to create jobs to grow Ohio’s economy by championing legislation to foster small business growth to create, retain, and sustain more good paying jobs in Central Ohio and to help those with developmental disabilities.

He serves as the Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee and as a member of the House Insurance and House Public Utilities committees.

Stinziano also serves on the National Governing Board of the Council of State Governments; as Vice Chair of the Workers Compensation Insurance Committee of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators; and as a Member of the Labor and Economic Development Committee and the Redistricting and Elections Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Stinziano resides in the University District with his wife, Caroline McNamee Stinziano, a Certified Public Accountant, and their five month old son, Michael Cooper Joseph Stinziano.
