COLUMBUS, Ohio – State Rep. Michael Stinziano was honored recently with an ESDY Award which salutes those who have supported others with developmental disabilities.
“Working on behalf of all Ohioans seeking opportunities for growth and development remains a priority,” said Stinziano, a Columbus Democrat. “I am pleased to continue working with those with developmental disabilities reach their full potential.”
According to Professionals, Advocates and Resources, a professional organization of those that work in the developmental disabilities field, and the Ohio Self Determination Association, which works with those who have developmental disabilities to become more independent, Stinziano was presented the award at the recent Synergy Conference.
Stinziano was honored, according to the organizations, for his work including sponsoring legislation that positively impacts those with developmental disabilities including traumatic brain injury legislation and working in a bipartisan manner to help those with developmental disabilities.
Also, according to the organizations, Stinziano is being honored for his work as the former director of the Franklin County Board of Elections to help voters including those with developmental disabilities.
