COLUMBUS, Ohio -- State Rep. Michael Stinziano, a Columbus Democrat, has been named a "Friend of Agriculture" by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation for Good Government Political Action Committee.
"I'm proud to stand with Ohio's farmers, which are the backbone of the state's $102 billion agricultural industry," said Stinziano, who's seeking his second two-year term in the Ohio House this November. "Everyone -- farmers and consumers -- have an interest in an abundant and affordable food supply."
"I want to continue a partnership with Ohio's farmers to move Ohio forward in a manner that benefits the needs of both rural and urban areas," Stinziano said.
According to the farm bureau federation, the "Friend of Agriculture" designation is given to selected candidates for public office based on their commitment to and positions on agriculture issues, qualifications and previous experience, communication abilities and their ability to represent their districts.
